Latest rumour: Zynga making $100 million in revenue

By on April 30, 2009

Earlier in the month, the rumour was that Zynga was making $50 million in revenue.

This week, BusinessWeek reports Zynga’s revenues are nearer $100 million.

All of these figures are from “people close to the company” so should be taking with a pinch of salt, but however you look at it, there is real money being made in social gaming.

Other key figures from the article:

  • Zynga has 250 employees
  • The majority of revenue comes from “the 2% to 10% of users who pay $1 an hour to play premium games or buy virtual goods
  • 10 million people have download rival publisher SGN’s games for iPhone and iPod Touch.
