Epic’s Infinity Blade makes $10 million in net revenue

By on June 17, 2011

Earlier this week, I blogged about how much money Epic Games was making from the In App Purchase option for Infinity Blade: somewhere between a third and a half of their revenue.

Epic VP Mark Rein followed up, and pointed out that Epic has confirmed that it has made over $10 million from Infinity Blade. And that’s after Apple’s 30% cut.

So a $5.99 iPhone game with AAA visuals and a great pedigree can gross around $14 million in four months, of which somewhere between $4 and $7 million was via in-app purchases.

That’s pretty good going by anyone’s standards.
