Gamesbrief at GDC

By on February 24, 2012

At this year’s GDC, Nicholas will take part in a panel on financing options for smaller games.

If you want to get your iPhone / Android / XBLA / PSN / WiiWare / tablet / web / social or PC download game financed, what are your options? This panel compares the various funding routes open for smaller developments and discusses the challenges and opportunities they offer.

If you just can’t wait until GDC to get the answer to your financing worries, do not despair. GAMESbrief has an ever-swelling ocean of knowledge on the topic. To get started, check out the 50 questions series on venture capital, and the Spreadsheet for monetisation and forecasting advice.

Just before Nicholas’ panel, your excellent editorial assistant Zoya Street will be giving a poster presentation showing her research into the history of in-game items. You can read more about it in the post, Is your game’s economy working for you?.

So, that’s Zoya at 1.30, Nicholas at 2.30, on Thursday at GDC this March. Don’t miss us!

About Zoya Street

I’m responsible for all written content on the site. As a freelance journalist and historian, I write widely on how game design and development have changed in the past, how they will change in the future, and how that relates to society and culture as a whole. I’m working on a crowdfunded book about the Dreamcast, in which I treat three of the game-worlds it hosted as historical places. I also write at Pocketgamer.biz and The Borderhouse.
