World of Goo publisher Brighter Minds files for Chapter 11 protection

By on February 2, 2009

Brighter Minds, publisher of indie-hit World of Goo, has filed for Chapter 11 protection.

The company focuses on family-friendly titles and is publicly traded on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX: BRI.V). The company is a portfolio company of Hargan Ventures, a Canadian early stage venture fund.

Under Chapter 11 protection, the company seeks protection from its creditors and can continue to trade while it seeks to resolve its financial difficulties. The company is therefore not yet put into the GameOverZone, although we’ll keep a watching brief on it.
