Job Loss Tracker methodology

We track job losses across a range of industries including publishing, development, retail and hardware.

However, when Circuit City goes bust with the loss of 30,000 jobs or Microsoft lays off 5,000 workers, not all of them are games industry people.

So we report on the headline number as well as the number of job losses that are specifically attributable to the games industry. And the job loss counter only includes jobs directly in the industry.
