With GDC 2013 rapidly approaching (it’s only two weeks away, folks), here’s a quick recap of what GAMESbrief will be up to around the event, and a reminder that you should book soon if you want to take part in our Business Masterclass (Sunday March 24th, all day) or take advantage of a one-on-one Surgery session (Monday March 25th and Tuesday March 26th, various slots available).

Please note that bookings for both Masterclass tickets and Surgeries will close ahead of GDC 2013, so both time and spaces are limited!

GAMESbrief Business Masterclass
(Sunday, March 24th – all day session)

[BOOK NOW!]

Nicholas will be running a GAMESbrief Masterclass in the USA for the first time on the Sunday before GDC. These Masterclasses have run dozens of times in European venues, for hundreds of participants. They’re often booked by large companies who want to give their staff a solid grounding in free-to-play and paymium business models, including the art of acquiring, retaining and monetising customers – but on this occasion, anyone is free to come along and benefit from Nicholas’ insight and experience.

The course runs all day, with a strictly limited number of attendees, and it’s as much about hands-on participation as it is about lectures or presentations – so you’ll come away with a really in-depth understanding of the principles and ideas involved, as well as actual experience of building them into game concepts.

The pre-GDC Masterclass was crowd-funded and reached its “tilt” point a couple of weeks ago – we still have a small number of tickets on sale at $600. You can also get great value by bringing along a friend or colleague for half-price, with a “bring-a-friend” ticket for two going for just $900.

GAMESbrief Surgeries
(Monday, March 25th; Tuesday, March 26th – various times available)

[BOOK NOW!]

If you’d like to get Nicholas to apply his insight and knowledge to a specific issue with your game or your business, a GAMESbrief Surgery session is exactly what you need. Book a one- or two-hour timeslot, and that time is yours – ask whatever you want, and Nicholas will work with you to come up with solutions or ideas that can supercharge your game business. Nicholas is the foremost expert on making money from games, with years of experience of working with some of the biggest and most successful companies in the games industry; these Surgeries are a unique chance for smaller companies, indie developers or brand owners to tap into his knowledge and experience.

We don’t generally offer these Surgeries for booking, due to other demands on Nicholas’ time – the 12 sessions being offered at GDC 2013 are the only ones we have planned at the moment. Once they’re gone, they’re gone, so book yours soon – check out the GDC 2013 Surgery Calendar to see which slots are available, and book your time today. A one-hour Surgery is $400, while a two-hour session can be had for $600.
