Job Loss Tracker

From 2008 to 2012, GAMESbrief tracked the number of redundancies being made across the games business – revealing the huge numbers of developers and other professional staff whose lives had been turned upside-down by the failures of their companies.

At the start of 2012, we decided to shut down the Job Loss Tracker. The point has been made – there is no such thing as a “stable” job in a creative industry like games, especially when the rise of new technologies and markets is constantly creating new opportunities and throwing existing publishers off-balance. We think there’s never been a better time for talented creatives to take control of their own futures and embrace the possibilities of self-publishing. If you’re interested, find out more about how GAMESbrief can help.
