Want to meet investors who want to put money into early-stage games companies?

Come to London in October.

The team at Game Republic have organised a day where games companies and investors can meet, network, get to know each other a little better and maybe, who knows, consummate a relationship.

They’ve tied it in with the Eurogamer Expo and it’s taking place at Earl’s Court on 1st October. Early bird tickets are available for £35 until August 31st, so if you’re interested, don’t dawdle. Hurry over to the website to book a Game Invest ticket.

Screen Yorkshire and Game Republic are hosting a games investor event as part of the Eurogamer Expo in London. Games Invest 2010 is an opportunity for small-to-medium-sized games companies to find out more about games investment, and also have an opportunity to network and pitch informally and formally to investors. Games Invest 2010 has a skew towards project investment, although equity investment will also be featured.

Every ticket purchase for Games Invest 2010 includes a morning of sessions presented by investors, a networking lunch, full access to the Eurogamer Expo and GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair, plus an application form for games companies to apply for meetings with games investors.

Once a ticket is purchased, you will be emailed a PDF ticket to bring to the event, plus a link to download the investor meeting application form. All completed forms MUST be sent to jamie@screenyorkshire.co.uk and emma@screenyorkshire.co.uk before Friday 10th September.

Investors will have full access to your investment meeting application form before the event and, if you’re successful, will use this information to arrange formal half-hour afternoon meetings in private meeting rooms with you on October 1st. Investors will contact companies they wish to meet at Games Invest 2010 by Friday 24th September.
All attendees will also have an opportunity to informally meet investors during the networking lunch.

At any time during/after lunch, attendees can get onto the Eurogamer Expo show floor to check out the GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair and also play the latest games from Sony, SEGA, Bethesda and more.

Please note: while any ticket-purchaser can pitch to investors via the Games Invest 2010 application form, this does not guarantee a private meeting on the day. Any formal meetings will be at the discretion of the investors. Also, we cannot guarantee that any meetings with investors will result in investment for your company. All completed forms MUST be sent to jamie@screenyorkshire.co.uk and emma@screenyorkshire.co.uk before Friday 10th September.

    As this is ScreenYorkshire I assume it’s only open to companies based in Yorkshire? This has been my experience of events previously organised by them.

    I don’t believe so. All the regional agencies are about to lose their funding under the Coalition government and need to create a commercial survival strategy. My guess is that this is part of that strategy.

    So I think it’s open to all. I’m going, and I’m very far from being a Yorkshireman

    I’ve spoken a bit with the guys at the University of Abertay and although they are based in Dundee they will consider funding projects nationwide – I think as Nicholas says, they are being encouraged to look further afield than their regions. I’ll be going along so will report back if you’re not able to make it.
